British Police Arrest Five Men Near RAF Fairford Base, Investigate Iran-Linked Terror Plot

Five men were arrested near RAF Fairford, a U.K. air base used by the U.S. for operations against Tehran. The arrests occurred on September 28, 2026, and were linked to an investigation into a possible terror plot. Approximately 85 families were evacuated during the incident as authorities secured the area. British police are examining whether the arrests prevented an attack connected to Iran. The base, which hosts U.S. military operations, has been a focal point of tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Adnkronos reported that the base is used for operations against Tehran, while other outlets focused on the arrests and the broader implications of the investigation. The event has intensified diplomatic and military scrutiny between the U.S., Britain, and Iran. While the British police have not confirmed the involvement of Iran, the investigation underscores the ongoing risks of cross-border terrorism and the strategic importance of RAF Fairford in regional operations.
