Arvid Sjødin, who is the defense lawyer for the man accused of killing Maren Sømme in Nærbø, is charged with breaching the duty of confidentiality. This is reported by Aftenbladet. Sjødin told Aftenbladet that he is accused of having shared confidential material with the accused, and also of having contributed to the client having unlawful contact with one of his family members. According to police inspector Mads Lærum, the police submitted a request last week to change the publicly appointed defense lawyer in the murder case. - I do not wish to comment on the background or content of the request while it is being processed in court, says police inspector Mads Lærum to Aftenbladet. Maren Sømme (30) was found with serious injuries in the accused's home in Nærbø on Sunday, July 26. She died the next day at Stavanger University Hospital.
