Houthis Launch Cross-Border Strike on Saudi Arabia as Yemen War Escalates

The Houthis, supported by Iran, conducted a cross-border strike on Saudi Arabia, hitting locations in the Red Sea region. The attack was part of a broader campaign by the Houthis to challenge Saudi and coalition forces in Yemen. The strike is attributed to the Iran-backed group, which has been waging war in Yemen for years. The strike resulted in immediate casualties and damage to Saudi infrastructure, prompting a swift military response from Saudi Arabia. The attack also raised concerns about the security of Red Sea shipping routes, which are critical for global trade. The Houthis have previously targeted Saudi oil facilities and other strategic locations, escalating the conflict beyond Yemen's borders. The event underscores the deepening involvement of external powers in the Yemen conflict. While the Houthis claim responsibility, Saudi Arabia and its allies accuse Iran of providing military support. The international community has called for a de-escalation, but the situation remains volatile.
