Macklemore Removed from Ed Sheeran's Tour Over Palestine Stance
Macklemore was removed from Ed Sheeran's U.S. tour after stadium owners issued an ultimatum: 'If Macklemore is there, you can't perform in our venues.' The decision followed Macklemore's public support for Palestine, which led to a conflict with venue owners. Ed Sheeran's tour continued without Macklemore.
Macklemore, a rapper known for his advocacy of Palestine, was removed from Ed Sheeran's U.S. tour due to pressure from stadium owners. The owners reportedly told Sheeran that if Macklemore performed at their venues, Sheeran could not perform there. Macklemore stated he is not a sacrifice, and the sacrifices are the Palestinian people. The incident occurred in the United States, with the ultimatum reportedly tied to a 'Free Palestine' moment at MetLife Stadium. The exact nature of the ultimatum and the role of MetLife Stadium in the decision remain unclear, with one source noting the event at the stadium and another focusing on the ultimatum itself.
