A flood caused by a Himalayan glacier collapse swept through northern Nepal, destroying villages and bridges. According to BBC on the 29th (local time), BBC's verification team analyzed pre- and post-disaster satellite images released by the US satellite information company Planet to confirm the scale of damage in the Trishuli River area. The satellite images showed that the border crossing point between Nepal and Tibet in China was almost completely washed away. CCTV footage captured a massive wave covering buildings as people hastily evacuated. The village of Timure also suffered significant damage. A considerable number of houses on the hillside were either washed away or covered in mud. In Siyapurbesi, about 10 km downstream from the Trishuli River, houses, bridges, and hydropower plants were found buried under mud, rocks, and debris. In the village of Trishuli, about 45 km downstream, an area was practically washed away. On-site footage showed a strong current causing the bridge to collapse, with residents screaming and fleeing.
