US and Allies Urge IAEA Board to Report Iran to UN Security Council

The United States and its allies, including key European nations and regional partners, have formally requested the IAEA board to report Iran to the UN Security Council. The request comes amid heightened concerns over Iran's nuclear program and its alleged violations of international agreements. The IAEA board is set to deliberate on the matter during its next session, which is scheduled for late September 2026. Multiple sources, including Al Arabiya, JPost, The Times of Israel, Middle East Eye, and Ynet, confirm the US-led push for the IAEA board to take action. While the specifics of Iran's alleged activities remain under investigation, the diplomatic pressure is part of a broader strategy to hold Iran accountable for its nuclear ambitions. No official confirmation of Iran's actions has been provided by Tehran, though the US and its allies maintain their stance. The potential report to the UN Security Council could lead to sanctions or other measures against Iran. The IAEA board's decision will be closely watched by global powers, as it may signal a shift in international diplomacy regarding Iran's nuclear program.
