Israel Kills Senior Hamas Commander Izz al-Din Al-Beik in Gaza Strike

On September 29, 2026, an Israeli airstrike targeted and killed Izz al-Din Al-Beik, a high-ranking commander in Hamas' armed wing based in northern Gaza. Israeli and Palestinian officials, including Hamas representatives, confirmed the death. Al-Beik was a key figure in Hamas' military operations, responsible for coordinating attacks and managing the group's armed infrastructure in the region. Multiple news outlets, including Al Arabiya, Reuters, and bdnews24, reported the strike as part of an ongoing Israeli military campaign against Hamas. The timing of the strike coincided with heightened tensions in the region, following a series of attacks and counterattacks between Israeli forces and Palestinian militant groups. No immediate casualties were reported beyond Al-Beik, though the strike could lead to further retaliation or escalation in the conflict. Sources consistently reported the killing of a senior Hamas commander, though they did not provide additional details on the strike's specifics or the broader context of the operation. The event underscores the continued violence and instability in Gaza, with both sides accusing each other of escalating hostilities.
