Israeli airstrikes targeted Tel al-Hawa, Deir el Balah, and the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital on August 29, 2026. These strikes killed several civilians and targeted a medicine warehouse and a refugee camp tent. Israel stated the hospital strike aimed to target a Hamas commander. On August 30, Israeli forces seized approximately 37 dunams of Palestinian land in Beitunia and west of Ramallah. Additional airstrikes in Deir Al-Balah killed two Palestinians, including a child, while Israeli forces claimed the elimination of a Hamas operative. In early September, Israeli special forces and Israel-backed militiamen conducted raids in Gaza City. These operations killed three people, including two children, during an attempt to capture a senior Hamas member. On September 1, Shin Bet successfully captured Hamas' Gaza City internal security chief in a precise special operation. Israeli forces confirmed the capture of the security chief during a raid on September 2. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Gaza on September 2 and declared that Israel will not withdraw from controlled areas until Hamas disarms. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant supported the evacuation of Gaza residents. On September 8, Hamas officials accused Israel of attempting to destroy evidence of crimes committed in Gaza through ongoing military operations. On September 14, 2026, the Israeli military conducted an airstrike in Gaza City that killed two Hamas members in a vehicle. The conflict remains active with ongoing Israeli military operations and targeted strikes against Hamas personnel and infrastructure.
