Russia and Ukraine Conduct '205-for-205' Prisoner Exchange with UAE Mediation

According to Kyiv Independent and The Straits Times, 205 Ukrainian prisoners of war were released from Russian captivity in a direct '205-for-205' exchange. The Kyiv Independent reported the exchange as the latest in a series of prisoner swaps. The Straits Times described the swap as a mutual exchange of 205 prisoners each. TASS, the Russian state news agency, stated that the UAE provided humanitarian mediation for the return of Russian service members from Ukrainian captivity. It also noted that Russian servicemen are currently in Belarus receiving medical assistance. The Kyiv Independent and The Straits Times did not mention the UAE's role in the exchange, focusing instead on the numbers and locations of the prisoners involved.
