Full timeline synthesis

May 12, 2026 – Oct 3, 2026

In May 2026, Pakistan signaled openness to dialogue through its ambassador to Russia, citing deteriorating bilateral relations. This diplomatic overture was immediately countered by India’s accusations at the UN Security Council, where New Delhi condemned Pakistan for genocidal acts and civilian violence in Afghanistan. India linked these charges to recent Pakistani comments on Kashmir, establishing a pattern of mutual recrimination. By late May, India formally rejected China and Pakistan’s references to Jammu and Kashmir, asserting the region’s status as an integral part of India.
